New Neighbor League names members of the month

The New Neighbor League of Peachtree city recently presented New Neighbor of the Month awards to two outstanding members.

JoAnne Pritchett was named New Neighbor of the Month for June. According to the group, she is a very dedicated, committed and focused individual who has participated in many activities and has always been more than willing to lend a helping hand.

Soon after joining the New Neighbor League she served as second vice-president. She also served as chairperson of the subs and mailing committee and did an outstanding job in getting the monthly newsletter out in a timely and efficient manner. Both she and her husband, Steve, were instrumental in making the Chinese Auction such a tremendous success last October.

Pritchett is educated at the masters level in nursing and was a nursing professor before moving to PTC. Most recently, she was employed by Baxter International, traveling throughout the county teaching hospital employees in the use of their latest and most innovative equipment. Her hobbies and interests include gardening, composting, international travel and riding her horse, Sky. She learned her equestrian skills while living in Belgium several years ago.

She and Steve came to Peachtree City in November, 2000 from Lafayette, Indiana. They have one son, Patrick, who is a senior at Purdue, and a daughter, Kim, who just graduated from Starr's Mill High School. Kim will attend Purdue this fall as well.

Pam Wetter is the New Neighbor for July. She and her husband Bill moved from Asheville, N.C., in the summer of 2000.

Her interests include knitting, reading and gardening. If someone she knows has a new baby, there will soon be a hand-knitted blanket or sweater for that baby. She is a gold's gym enthusiast and will be a regular again as soon as she recuperates from recent knee replacement surgery.

Wetter has served New Neighbors as co-chairman of hospitality, recording secretary and is now a caller for the Prospective Member Committee. She also participates in several interest groups.

She is a staff member at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, working as the administrative assistant to the organist where she helps with music selection and a youth music program. She also volunteers in the church office once a week.

She and Bill will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary in August. They have two children and three grandchildren, all residing in Seattle.

New Neighbors League Club's purpose is to bring together newcomers to the area so that they may meet and become friends while adjusting to new surroundings. A not-for-profit social organization with a monthly meeting and a wide variety of special interest groups, it is a national organization with 14 chapters throughout the United States.
