South Fulton residents who crossed the county line Tuesday had an opportunity to see their newest state representative.

Fayetteville's Virgil Fludd will represent South Fulton in District 48, Post 4. The district is one of the new multi-member districts across the state and Fludd faces no opposition in his race.

When Fludd arrives at the General Assembly next year, he said his top priority is going to be education.

He also wants to see transportation improved in the Atlanta region and wants to see a complete plan to address the traffic issues.

Fludd also favors managed growth plan and said his experience on various committees will serve him well in the General Assembly.

The new representative move to the area in the 1990s and will be one of four representatives serving the largest geographic district in the House. The district serves north Fayette and south Fulton counties.
