Fayettevile's Sharp dispels myths about girls at Thursday Thunder

The bumper of Bre Sharp's Bandolero car warns "Stay back - girl driver." The inside of her car sports a square of shiny tape, supposedly a mirror for putting on her makeup. The work of a group of boys trying to intimidate the girl driver? Hardly. The extras are thanks to her family's wicked sense of humor.

Public hearing on restricting deer importation next week

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Wildlife Resources Division will hold a public hearing to receive input on a proposal to adopt DNR rules and regulations governing the importation of live cervids (members of the deer family). The purpose of the proposed regulation is to manage Georgia's wildlife according to sound principles of wildlife management and to meet public objectives for use of these renewable natural resources. The hearing is scheduled for Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Clayton County School's Performing Arts Center located at 2530 Mount Zion Parkway in Jonesboro.

Hello race fans! This year the Steve Dale Motorsports team has had pretty good luck, but not this past weekend at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana. We finished an unlucky 13th in the event, a finishing position that matched our weekend.
