Bray named grand marshal of CCSU homecoming

Clayton County Commission Chairman Crandle Bray is riding to the campus of Clayton College & State University to serve as the grand marshal for the University's annual Homecoming Parade.

This year's Homecoming is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26. For the third straight year, the on-campus parade will be the highlight of two days worth of activities, soccer, games and entertainment for students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University.

Typically, the parade's grand marshal will lead the event in a suitably decorated convertible. But not this year.

Bray, a long-time friend and supporter of Clayton State and the Atlanta Regional Commission's chairman, will be leading the parade while driving his own horse and buggy.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Oct. 26 and will cover a mile-long course on the University's Morrow campus. The theme for the 2002 Clayton State Homecoming will be "Hallow Homecoming 2002 ... Awaken the Laker Spirit in You."

Although Clayton State is best known for serving the residents of Atlanta's "Southern Crescent," the University's alumni are currently spread out over more than 100 of Georgia's 158 counties.
