Sullivan makes Eagle Scout

Ryan Sullivan of Boy Scout Troop 75, which meets at Peachtree City United Methodist Church and is sponsored by the Methodist Men's Club, recently celebrated his Eagle Scout Court of Honor.

Ryan is a rising junior at McIntosh High School and has been a participating member of Troop 75 for four years. In addition to Scouting, he is very active in several academic, athletic and community service activities.

Ryan's Eagle Scout project was the planning, organizing and implementation of a very successful blood drive that benefited LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, a system of not-for-profit blood centers that provide services to hospitals and health care facilities in Georgia, Florida and Alabama.

The Eagle rank is the highest award in Scouting, achieved by only one percent of all boys who initially join Scouting. Ryan has earned 28 merit badges, well above the minimum of 21 required to earn the Eagle rank. Ryan is currently completing the requirements for his Bronze Palm for continued leadership in his troop and community.

In addition, he earned the Arrow of Light award and the World Conservation award. He is preparing for an expedition to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico later this month. He will be the crew leader and they will earn their 50-Miler award.
