Free goat raising seminar in August

The Middle Georgia Goat Producers will sponsor a "Goat Basic" workshop on Saturday August 10, in Perry, Ga. at the Houston County Extension Office, located at 733 Carroll Street. The meeting will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and will end by noon. The following subjects will be covered during the morning session: fencing, housing, browse, medications, selecting goats.

In the afternoon visits will be made to several goat producer farms for hands on training in giving shots, worming goats, and trimming the feet of goats. This is a free class, open to anyone. The emphasis of the material will be directed toward individuals who are new at raising goats, or those who may be considering getting into the goat business.
