Youth home receives United Way funds
By CAROLYN
CARY
The Fayette Youth Protection Home has received funds from United Way that will allow anger management to continue as a part of its program for abused and neglected children. The Fayette Youth Protection Home, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation which owns the Asden Johnson and Jim Friday homes. The Friday Home, in northern Fayette County, has been operating since 1989 and the Johnson Home, located in Brooks, is four years old. The combined facilities house 16 children for extended care with four additional beds for emergencies. "We were expecting a cut this year because United Way giving was off. We did not increase our request for funds this year in an effort to be good citizens in this time of national need," said Jane Gough, development coordinator for the charity. "So we were thrilled that individual donors, giving through United Way, remembered us."
