Reagan named to Herriott staff
A local resident has been named to Bob Herriott's campaign staff in his bid for the 11th District U.S. House of Representatives seat. Julie Reagan, a 1999 graduate of Arlington Christian School, is the campaign's grassroots program coordinator. She is currently attending the University of Georgia and working toward a degree in business management. The daughter of George and Cheryl Reagan of Newnan, she will be responsible for organizing and leading grassroots efforts throughout the 17 counties that make up the new 11th District. "Julie's role as grassroots program coordinator is imperative to the success of the campaign," said Herriott. "Julie's position within the campaign requires a tremendous amount of organization and knowledge of all areas of the district. I have full confidence in Julie and I'm glad she is a part of our team." Herriott is one of three announced Republican candidates for the seat in the new 11th District, made up of 17 counties in northwest and west Georgia, stretching from Summerville and Rome in the north to Columbus in the south. The district includes parts of Newnan and Coweta County. Herriott, who has been endorsed by U.S. Rep. Bob Barr, is a 1964 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served three deployments during the Vietnam War as a decorated naval aviator. He retired from the Naval Reserve in 1985 as a commander and is currently a captain with Delta Air Lines. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Mary, for more than 37 years and has three grown children and two grandchildren.
