CCSU gets first Fulbright Scholar

"We have made a little history for Clayton State," said Professor of History Dr. Robert Welborn.

Thanks to the efforts of Welborn, President Dr. Thomas K. Harden and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Brad Rice, Clayton State will be hosting its first Fulbright Scholar in Residence for the Fall Semester 2002.

Dr. Raymond Osei of the University of the Cape Coast in Ghana will be teaching an African History course and a History of Philosophy course for Clayton State starting in August, as well as making guest lectures on African culture to community groups, area schools, and nearby colleges.

Osei, 49, has a Ph. D. in philosophy from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. According to Welborn, his wife will accompany him to the United States for his year as a Fulbright Scholar. Kennesaw State University will host Osei during the spring 2003 semester.

Clayton College & State University is a state university of the University System of Georgia, located in Morrow.
