Investigation of prostitution at PTC massage parlor continues

More charges may be coming against the those who operated VIP Spa and Massage Therapy in Peachtree City, police indicated.

Detectives are also looking into how the business was set up since the location was originally leased by a third party, noted Police Chief James Murray. Police recently shut down the business after an undercover sting resulting from a hot tip led to the arrest of three illegal aliens.

One of the suspects, Phouth Van, 35, of Riverdale was charged with keeping a place of prostitution, carrying a concealed weapon and giving false information to a police officer. Two others were also charged: Rujee Kongngoen, 31, of Riverdale for unlawful practice of massage and Onanong Manivong, 28, of Riverdale for masturbation for hire.

Police are using credit card receipts and other means to contact customers of the "massage parlor" which police claim was a house of prostitution.

"Our investigation is still open," Murray said.

The arrests are yet another sign that "big city" crime is starting to infiltrate Peachtree City, the chief said.

"We will not let [type of crime] corrupt our community," Murray said. "I think people need to know there are things going on that they don't see. We are a larger city and not just a small town anymore."

Murray said citizens are encouraged to share information with the department's Criminal Investigations Division by calling 770-631-2510. Callers may remain anonymous.

"We encourage anybody who has been there to come in and file a report," Murray added.
