HIV testing day approaches

The Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness, with the Greater Atlanta Millennium Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., and National AIDS Education & Services for Minorities, Inc., will sponsor National HIV Testing Day at the Mall West End June 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This event will feature free HIV testing in the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness' Mobile Unit, pre-test counseling, free condoms and information. Prizes,entertainment and refreshments are also planned.

The free HIV testing is offered as part of the county's yearlong campaign to raise AIDS awareness. The campaign, entitled "Fulton Faces AIDS: The Real Test is Now," focuses on raising community awareness of the ongoing problem of AIDS, fighting the disease and encouraging individuals to get tested.

The Mall West End is located at 850 Oak Street, Atlanta.
