Water service back to normal By JOHN THOMPSON jthompson@TheCitizenNews.com Residents in South Fulton and Coweta counties are breathing a sigh of relief after last week's water scare. Fairburn City Clerk Nancy Faulkner said a major break in one of Atlanta's water mains last Thursday forced residents to boil their water all weekend. "Any time you have a major break like this, you have to boil the water as a safety precaution," she said. Residents in Coweta County also were affected, since the county recently started purchasing water from the city of Atlanta. The boiling order was lifted Monday, but residents have still been flooding local governments with complaints of rust in the water. Faulkner said when water pressure drops and then is raised dramatically, rust on the inside of the pipes tend to flake off and appear in resident's water. By Wednesday morning, Faulkner said many of the complaints had died down, but urged residents to report any further problems to City Hall. What do you think of this story?
