N. Fayette group meets Tuesday

Library services, public works and county government are the main topics scheduled for discussion at the North Fayette Community Association's upcoming meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Country Lake Community Center.

Christine Snell, director of the Fayette County Library, is the featured speaker. She is expected to discuss current services offered by the library and plans for growth and expansion. Of particular interest to association members are the expansion plans for the library system driven by the county's current capital improvements program.

Also on the agenda are Lee Hearn, the county's director of public works, and County Commissioner Peter Pfeifer. Hearn will talk about the selection process for paving county roads, and Pfeifer will give an update on commission activities and conduct a brief question-and-answer session. An update on the Fayette County Recreation Department's needs assessment process is also scheduled.

The Country Lakes subdivision is on the east side of Ga. Highway 279 north of Fayetteville. After turning in at the main entrance, the community center is on the right.

The meeting is "open to all residents interested in promoting the common interests of the North Fayette community," according to a statement by the association. An advocacy group for residents in the area, the association is open to any resident or homeowner association in the area.
