Fayetteville council could have quick meeting

A fairly lengthy agenda awaits the Fayetteville City Council's at tomorrow night's regular meeting, but that meeting is expected to be conducted quickly.

Several items dealing with the proposed annexation and rezoning of two parcels at the Fayette Pavilion will likely be tabled at the recommendation of city staff. Planning Director Jahnee Prince told the council at last week's work session that not all of the plans have been received for those projects and she suggested waiting until next month to rule on them.

Also likely to be tabled is a proposed ordinance creating a new redevelopment zoning district, along with a rezoning request under that category, as the Planning and Zoning Commission was scheduled to make its own ruling on the ordinance in a special called meeting last night.

A rezoning request from Tom and Michele Cox for property at 260 North Jeff Davis Drive is on tomorrow night's agenda for public hearing and first reading. Also scheduled for first reading are a proposed gas station ordinance, an architectural advisory committee ordinance and an amendment to the city's zoning ordinance regarding demolition.

The council meets at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
