Developer is unhappy with parking arrangement By JOHN
THOMPSON It's back to the drawing board for a developer building a new commercial development in Senoia. David Lindsay is well underway in creating the city's newest commercial area on Ga. Highway 16. But Monday night, Lindsay appeared before the City Council and asked for more parking places for the center. When the center was originally discussed, the city's Planning Commission eliminated many parking spaces in front of the center. The City Council agreed with the Planning Commission and approved the final plat. Now, Lindsay wants many of those spaces back, and asked the City Council Monday night to reinstate them. "Many of the possible tenants are asking about the spaces," he said. City Councilman Bill Wood said he had a problem with the procedure involved, and thought Lindsay should have made his request to the Planning Commission. But City Administrator Murray McAfee said since Lindsay was appealing a zoning decision, he believed the appeal was to the City Council. City attorney Drew Whalen, though, agreed with Wood. "Since he didn't do his appeal within the 60 days, it reverts back to the Planning Commission," he said. Lindsay is expected to bring his request to the Planning Commission May 21. It could be back on the council's agenda June 3.
