Peachtree City's Development Authority and Airport Authority have already agreed to hold back some funds in case the city's hotel-motel tax their main source of revenue falls short of projections this year.

But legal agreements between the authorities and the city are still unsigned, partially due to a scheduling conflict that kept the Development Authority from appearing at Thursday's council meeting.

One part of the Airport Authority's agreement was also questioned when Councilman Steve Rapson who questioned a clause that allows the authority to keep the $28,000 it has agreed to give the city at the end of the fiscal year. That clause goes into affect if the Airport Authority has a revenue shortfall or unanticipated expense that would keep it from meeting its financial obligations.

Authority chairwoman Catherine Nelmes told the City Council Thursday night that she would discuss eliminating that clause with the authority at its next meeting, which is tonight at 7 p.m. at Falcon Field.

Council voted to officially table approval of both intergovernmental agreements.
