PTC Library closing May 10 for staff training

The Peachtree City Library will be closed all day Friday, May 10, for staff training.

The training is an offshoot of results from a survey conducted by the library in March which identified several areas for improvement including noise control, collection development and staff courtesy.

One of the workshops, on customer service, will be taught by Susan Roberts of Georgia Public Library Service.

"We heard the public's comments and we plan to take action," said Technology & Training Manager Jill Prouty.

The Library Satisfaction Survey is part of the Continuous Improvement Plan the library has undertaken this year. Other areas the staff is working on include public relations, children's programming, and improving the rate at which holds are filled.

"Each of these areas we are focusing on all boil down to the one thingcustomer service, which is the reason we exist in the first place. We are here to provide an essential service to the community, and our goal is to make every encounter with every patron a positive one," said Prouty.
