Council considers annexations, rezonings
By MONROE ROARK
The agenda for Thursday night's regular meeting of the Fayetteville City Council, 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, is scheduled to include the following: A rezoning request (R-22 residential to C-2 commercial) from Richard Dumas for property at 1307 Highway 85 north, directly across from New Hope Road, for a shopping center that would include Dumas' J&R Clothing store now located at the northern tip of the county. An appeal of the Planning and Zoning Commissions' decision to deny Dumas a second curb cut at the same location. An annexation request from Dan Stinchcomb of Stanley Estates for about 152.8 acres of property on Lester Road, and a subsequent rezoning from A-R to R-40 PUD (planned unit development). A development agreement for Stanley Estates. Annexation requests from Thomas Enterprises for two parcels in Fayette Pavilion (Phase 3 and Phase 4B) totalling nearly 59 acres, with subsequent rezonings C-H (highway commercial) to C-2 and C-4. A development agreement for those parcels. Each annexation and rezoning request is a public hearing and second reading, which means they will be voted on at this week's meeting.
