Need a filmstrip projector or an overhead projector?

If you're in the market for such goods, you'll want to mark your calendar for June 8. The Fayette County government, the town of Tyrone and the Fayette County School System are putting surplus items up for auction.

The auction, which will take place at the Fayette County Public Works facility, will allow the groups to recoup money for used excess furniture and appliances, as well as computer equipment and vehicles that are no longer needed. Before the surplus items go up for auction, teachers will be able to view the items and transfer any items they need to their classroom.

Facilities Services has purchased four new vans and is declaring four of their oldest vans surplus. The vans include one 1982 Chevrolet, one 1984 Chevrolet and two 1990 Fords. Unfortunately, there will be no buses up for auction this year.

Auction bidders will be able to view the items between 8 and 10 a.m. on June 8. The auction will begin immediately following the viewing. The Fayette County Public Works Facility is located on McDonough Road in Fayetteville.
