Avery Park to host Kitchen Showcase

Avery Park, one of historic Newnan's most successful master-planned communities, will host a free Kitchen Showcase April 13-14 and 20-21 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and 1-6 p.m. Sundays.

The free showcase will feature eight trend-setting kitchens in homes ranging in price from the high $120s to over $300,000.

Featured kitchen designers and suppliers include Rockin'B Antiques and Collectibles, Townecraft Stainless Steel Cookware, Kohls, Kirklands and the Northgate High School Interior & Home Technology Club.

According to Peggy Sullivan, vice president of marketing at Pathway Communities, the kitchen has become more than a place to cook and eat. "The kitchen has evolved into the central gathering place in the home," says Sullivan. "From entertaining to e-mailing, the kitchen has become a multi-use area. And the Kitchen Showcase at Avery Park will display a variety of kitchen designs with a multitude of uses."

Avery Park's collection of kitchen plans is complemented by its selection of home styles, ranging from turn-of-the-century to traditional to custom, and its assortment of recreational opportunities. Amenities include walking trails and pedestrian paths, a competition-size swimming pool, tennis courts, community parks and a commercial Village Square. In addition, more than 30 percent of Avery Park has been designated green space and open areas.

Avery Park also offers a combination of potential ultra-fast Internet access, upgraded wiring in every home and an interactive community Intranet.

All Kitchen Showcase visitors will be eligible to win gift certificates at Rockin'B Antiques and Collectibles, Kohls and Kirklands.

Avery Park is located on Highway 29 in Newnan. For more information on the Kitchen Showcase, call the Avery Park Information Center at 770-252-9100.
