Reminder: Outdoor burn ban begins in May The Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services is reminding all residents that the annual outdoor burning ban begins May 1. All outdoor burning of yard debris will be prohibited during the ban, which is enacted throughout metro Atlanta for air quality purposes. Burning of debris from land clearing for development projects will also be prohibited during the ban. The ban will be lifted Oct. 1.
