Peachtree City Mayor Steve Brown wants more input from the Fayette County School System on the city's potential rezoning and annexation proposals.

At council's retreat last weekend, Brown said he felt council could benefit from having a more specific idea on how its decisions impact the operations of school system.

Councilwoman Annie McMenamin said she felt council has always worked well with the school system, and she noted that the board of education provides information to council on each residential rezoning request.

Brown said he would like to develop a form for school officials to fill out so council could have information such as the affect of a rezoning or annexation on the school system's physical plant.

McMenamin said it would be better to meet with the school board and ask them "how we can do a better job of letting them know what we're doing."

Brown pointed out that council will soon be considering a request to rezone industrial property south of Falcon Field for residential purposes.
