Parking may be restricted in PTC on Commerce Dr. By JOHN
MUNFORD
The Peachtree City Council will consider a staff recommendation to limit parking on Commerce Drive North near Gold's Gym and Royal Learners day care center at its meeting Thursday night. J.D. Holmes of Gold's Gym told council at its last meeting that it is necessary for his employees and customers to park on the street because of inadequate parking at the business. But in a memo to council, Director of Developmental Services Jim Williams said routine employee parking on the road should not be allowed. Fire Chief Stony Lohr recommends that parking be allowed one side of the street to provide access for emergency vehicles. In other business, council will consider a variance for the Jet Limo property adjacent to Falcon Field. Although the originally approved site plan meets all setback requirements, the applicant has prepared a different plan with driveway and parking encroachments into the front setback areas. Williams recommends against approving the variance because it is "unnecessary to provide an internal connection for the parking areas of the two proposed buildings."
