Bicycle safety course offered for children A free bicycle safety course designed to teach children the rules of the road will be offered Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Shakerag Knoll off McIntosh Trail. Peachtree City police officers will conduct the 30-minute courses for children ages 5 through 9. Also, representatives of Bicycles Unlimited will inspect the children's bikes and safety helmets. "Remembering to have your child wear his safety helmet every minute he or she is riding, even if they are just riding in your neighborhood, is one of the most important rules," said Susan Taylor, coordinator of the event. "This could save them from a very serious accident." Preregistration is required by calling the Peachtree City Recreation Department at 770-631-2542. No last minute registrations will be accepted.
