Commercial rezoning request to be heard by Planning Commision

A proposed commercial rezoning for land at the former entrance to the Wynnmeade subdivision will be considered by the Peachtree City Planning Commission at its regular meeting Monday night.

The 3.1-acre tract is currently zoned residential but Piedmont Properties wants to develop it commercially. Other commercial properties will be sprouting up along the north side of Ga. Highway 54 West.

The current land use plan calls for the property to be considered for a limited use commercial type of zoning, and city officials urged the developer to meet with Wynnmeade residents to see if they could agree on a special use for the property.

The request has been postponed several times at the request of the applicant.
