Marie Washburn, vice chair of the Peachtree City Library Commission, honored Eugene Miller and his wife, Donna, for their contributions to the library.

The Millers donate money each year to both the Peachtree City Library and the Fayette County Library for the purchase of books that would be of interest to the African-American community.

They came from Michigan five years ago, where he was an engineer for the General Motors Engineering Center.

Eugene serves on the board of directors of the Fayette County NAACP and Donna serves as secretary.

In accepting the plaque honoring them, Eugene stated, "While we feel it important to make these donations, please feel free to join us in this endeavor. We certainly don't want to set any restrictions on being the only donors."
