PTC Council to consider update of land use plan By JOHN
MUNFORD
The Peachtree City Council has a relatively light agenda scheduled for its regular meeting Thursday night. The most significant item on the agenda is consideration of the update to the city's land use plan. The plan, which is used as a guide to future development, doesn't have many significant changes and has already been approved by the Planning Commission. Council also will consider two amendments to the parking ordinance that would forbid parking on the south side of Prime Point and on both sides of Commerce Drive north. Those actions are recommended by Police Chief James Murray. Council also will consider a plan to lease-purchase five mowers for the Recreation Department. The heavy-duty commercial mowers will be paid off over four years for less than $15,000 a year. The city currently has only three reliable mowers to cover 70 acres of ball fields and 230 acres of parks once a week. Leisure services director Randy Gaddo recommends the purchase of the five mowers.
