Homestead exemption rules explained une 1 is the deadline for Fulton County homeowners to apply for their $15,000 homestead exemptions. This applies to persons who owned and occupied their homes on or before Jan. 1, 2002. Unless a deed change occurred in 2001, homeowners who were previously receiving their exemptions need not reapply. Citizens who wish to establish a homestead exemption should phone 404-224-0102.
