Clayton State welcomes potential honors students

Clayton Colege & State University's recruitment office and Honors Student Association are uniting to host an invitation-only honors program and reception for local students.

The event will be Sunday, March 3, from 2 - 4 p.m. in the atrium of the university's Harry S. Downs Center for Continuing Education. More than 500 prospective high school seniors have been invited.

Potential candidates for the honors program and its scholarship are students who received a combined score of 1,100 on the SAT or a composite score of 24 on the ACT. Students must also carry a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Students will be introduced to the Clayton State campus, visit Spivey Hall, and discover how the new University Center will transform the campus upon its completion in 2003. Students will also have an opportunity to meet with select members of the honors faculty and will learn about CCSU's notebook computer program, one of only 32 in the nation.
