FCH names two new executive coordinators

Fayette Community Hospital recently announced the appointment of two new executive coordinators.

Michael Burnett has been named executive coordinator for clinical services, which includes physical therapy, rehabilitation and speech therapy, laboratory, pharmacy, respiratory/cardiology and diagnostics.

"Michael is a welcome addition to our team at Fayette Community Hospital," said hospital CEO Darrell Cutts. "His understanding and appreciation of our community, along with his knowledge of business and hospital administration will give a fresh perspective on the coordination of these clinical services, especially in the cardiopulmonary area."

Previously, Burnett served as director of management support at Piedmont Hospital and operations director of cardiovascular services. He also worked at Emory Clinic and Athens Regional.

Currently, Burnett is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives and serves on the Regent's Advisory Committee. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and continued his education with a duel master's degree in business administration and health administration from Georgia State University.

Burnett is also a graduate of Fayette County High School and returns to the community with his wife and son.

The hospital has recently appointed Lisa Hedenstrom, RN, MSN, MBA, CNAA, to the position of executive coordinator of nursing services. Hedenstrom is responsible for nursing care services to include inpatient/medical/surgical, critical and emergency care and surgical services.

Hedenstrom was formerly with a PROMINA Health System partner where she held the position of Chief Nurse Executive, Director of Nursing. Her responsibilities included financial management and operations for patient care service departments. She also previously served as director and manager of multiple departments within the Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, Georgia.

Hedenstrom is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia where she received her MSN, and Hedenstrom received her MBA from Brenau University. She currently holds membership in the American Organization of Nurse Executives as well as American College of Healthcare Executives. Hedenstrom has a strong commitment to the community through volunteerism with the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.

Fayette Community Hospital, a not-for-profit subsidiary of Piedmont Medical Center and a member of PROMINA. Health System, is located on Ga. Highway 54 in Fayetteville. Services of the 100-bed community hospital include the following: 24-hour emergency department, medical/surgical, critical care, diagnostics, including laboratory, radiology and mammography, respiratory, physical therapy and rehabilitation, outpatient surgery and comprehensive outpatient services and the Minor Emergency Care Center.
