Restrooms may be upgraded at city's park

Now that the Blue House controversy has died down, the city of Senoia will go back to doing the everyday things to keep the city running.

Two weeks ago, the City Council reached a compromise on the historic house that seemed to have left everyone happy.

This Monday's agenda is fairly light, and focuses more on the daily duties of municipal governments.

The biggest item on the agenda could be the remodeling of the restrooms at the city's park. At the last meeting, the city voted to install portable toilets at the park until it could determine a permanent fix for the situation.

Several residents have asked city officials to install restrooms at the park, so it could be used more by the residents.

The city previously had one bathroom at the facility, but it has fallen into disrepair and would have to be remodeled to comply with access standards for people with disabilities.

The council will receive estimates Monday night on the exact costs for a makeover of the facility.

In other business, the City Council will:

Hear a request from Mary Nell Childs at 434 Seavy Street for an addition to her property. Since she lives in the historic district, Childs must have her plans approved by the historic ordinance committee, which is the City Council.

Decide whether to purchase or lease a copier-scanner for the library and Police Department.

Discuss the purchase of a mobile generator for the city's sewer system.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
