Cheerleaders strut their stuff here

More than 40 cheer squads will show their stuff at the 14th annual Fulton County Cheer Exhibition Saturday at Creekside High School, 7405 Herndon Road, Fairburn.

The exhibition will showcase the talents of cheerleaders ages 5 to 14 from DeKalb, Fulton and Clayton counties. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and last until approximately 2:30 p.m.

Each squad will perform a 2.5-minute routine and be rated by a panel of 10 judges. Teams will be awarded trophies based on performance.

Fulton County's Parks and Recreation Department's cheerleading program provides cheer training for more than 200 girls. Many of these go on to cheer for their high school and college teams, sometimes winning scholarships.
