Reader says let Blue House owner sell property

I think it is about time the Senoia Historical Society puts their money where their mouth is or shut up and let Chuck and Carla Smith get on with their lives.

This has been very hard on them for the past two years and Perry Benson and his Historical Society is only adding to their stress. If they had wanted the Blue House saved they should buy it and not at the loss of $35,000 to the Smiths as proposed before, or back off and let these two get back to their lives.

It is hard enough to be the bread winner for your family without having to keep taking off from work to be at all the meetings. Plus the stress doesn't help either of them. There is an unborn child that all of this stress may be affecting in case none of you have taken this into account.

I think anyone who plans to vote on this issue on Feb. 4 needs to make sure they take the tour through the house before then, so they are sure what they are voting on. Otherwise, they really don't need to be voting. I'm sure Chuck would be happy to take you on a tour. Just give him a call.

Just ask yourselves, how many of you could be handling all this expense and stress in your lives. It's time you put yourself in Chuck and Carla's shoes before you speak anymore.

This house hasn't mattered to anyone for the past four or five years. Why should it now?
