SRMC moves 'Moms' to Fayetteville Southern Regional Medical Center offers a unique pre-and post-natal exercise program called "Moms in Motion" that helps pregnant women stay in shape and meet required exercise goals. Participants meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at Gold's Gym Peachtree City East located at 1964 Ga. Highway 54 in Fayetteville. "Moms in Motion is designed to prepare women for the physiological changes that occur during pregnancy and postpartum," said Ali Rice, SRMC's health education coordinator. "The aquatic fitness program helps develop stamina, increase strength and restore muscle tone after the baby is born. "The program also provides a network and social forum for pregnant and postpartum women," Rice added. "Participants have fun, have a great work out, learn valuable information and make new friends." "The Gold's Gym facility represents a substantial enhancement to our already successful program," said Rick Smith, director of public relations and marketing at SRMC. "It is an indoor aquatic facility which permits uninterrupted year-round use, it offers childcare to participating moms, provides access to more modern equipment, and is generally more convenient to our participants than our previous facility." Janet McGregor, corporate marketing director for Gold's Gym says, "We are thrilled that Southern Regional Medical Center chose our facility to host their Moms in Motion program. It compliments the existing programs we currently host and allows us the opportunity to offer an even more well-rounded wellness program to local residents." Moms in Motion celebrated its one-year anniversary last September. For more information, call Promina HealthCall at 770-541-1111.
