Fayetteville man charged with assaulting wife with lamp

A Fayetteville man has been arrested and charged with assaulting his wife with a lamp early Thursday morning.

Greg A. Bolin, 36, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, DUI, obstructing a police officer and cruelty to children in the second degree.

According to a report filed by the Fayetteville Police Department, the altercation occurred when Bolin woke his wife up at their Merlot Court residence and pulled her out of bed. Bolin fled the scene in a black 1996 Jeep Cherokee but returned and failed to obey an officer's order to stay out of the house, the report stated.

The cruelty to children charge stemmed from the assault taking place in front of a minor child, according to warrants placed for Bolin's arrest.
