Pizza from Partners up for national award The unique Road Runner pizza from Partners II Pizza is in the running for a top nationwide pizza honor. The Road Runner, which features chicken fingers, cilantro, smoked Gouda and red and green peppers, is a finalist in the Pizza of the Year competition held by the International Pizza Expo. Owners Marilyn and Jim Royal will attend the trade show and conference in Las Vegas next month to cook up the recipe for judges. Marilyn Royal said the recipe became a finalist after judges cooked it up themselves. "But you know it wasn't as good because they didn't have our dough," she added, noting that they plan to freeze the dough and take it with them to Las Vegas for the competition. The pizza has a very smoky taste and "a pretty good bite," she added. "It's neat and I'm really excited," Royal said. The International Pizza Expo is where the Royals got their idea for their famous Baked Potato pizza which has gained acclaim throughout metro Atlanta. John Munford
