WASA to consider contract for billing arrangements with county water system

The Peachtree City Water and Sewer Authority is likely to formalize its billing arrangements with the Fayette County Water System in a contract at its regular meeting Monday night.

The water system bills sewer customers for WASA in return for a $1 charge for each bill. The water system also collects the fees and presents the funds to WASA in a monthly check.

WASA's rates, of course, are assessed for every 1,000 gallons of water used by sewer customers.

Water system officials have asked for the arrangements to be formalized in a contract due to the need to provide a similar service for Fayetteville and Tyrone, said WASA General Manager Larry Turner.
