Bring in trees Saturday

Now that the holidays are behind us, it's time to get rid of that old Christmas tree, and the Keep Fayette Beautiful organization is here to help with four drop-off locations for recycling.

Those who participate in the "Bring One for the Chipper" program Saturday will receive free seedlings as long as they last, said Ginger Blackstone, spokesman for the organization.

This year, because the group is no longer receiving funding from Fayette County, KFB also will be accepting donations at the drop-off sites.

The four sites will operate from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., manned by volunteers from KFB and other local civic groups.

The sites are:

Fayetteville Home Depot at The Pavilion, Ga. Highway 85, Fayetteville.

North Kedron Kroger, North Peachtree Parkway and Ga. Highway 74, Peachtree City.

Dorothea Redwine Park, Byewood Lane (off Senoia Road), Tyrone.

Peachtree City Recycling Center, Ga. Highway 74 south and Rockaway Road, Peachtree City.
