As the new administration gets ready to conduct its first meeting, Senoia Mayor Dianne Cleveland said the city is in good shape.

Cleveland said more than 25 candidates applied for the city administrator's job and the city has narrowed the field down to five.

The candidates all possess college degrees and have experience in writing grants, said Cleveland.

City officials will also fill all three of the vacancies on the Planning Commission at the Jan. 7 meeting, and are also moving ahead with plans to hire a librarian.

Cleveland said members of the library board will meet this week and narrow the candidates down to two for the city council to interview.

"I don't know if the former administration thought they were going to leave us high and dry, but we're moving right along," Cleveland said.
