Baker is new Heritage Club director for Fayette

There's a new Heritage Club Director in town - and she's enthusiastically ready for the challenge.

Regions Bank has hired Elena Baker to fill the position of Heritage Club Director and New Business Development Manager for Fayette County. Gina Weathersby, who has been temporarily holding down the fort in both Fayette and Coweta counties, will focus entirely on the Coweta area. Baker will be responsible for Fayette County.

Baker moved to Peachtree City in 1996 from the Buckhead area. She chose Fayette County based almost solely on the high test scores of the schools. With four children to raise, the outstanding schools, and other aspects such as the relatively low crime rate and family atmosphere, were tops on her list of enticements.

Baker says her four children have been her inspiration. Her oldest son, Aaron, graduated from Harvard Law School and now lives in Clearwater, Florida. Kenny, her second son, is studying gene therapy at UC-Berkeley. Lauren and Jacqueline both attend McIntosh High School. Lauren is a junior and is active in the Youth Advisory Board and Yearbook staff. Jacqueline, a freshman, is a basketball cheerleader.

Baker has over 20 years experience in business, marketing and finance. She was the owner and founder of the successful Cookie Works at Lenox Square, owned a hotel, was a financial advisor with American Express and worked with the Noble Management Group.

In addition to holding down a full-time job and raising four children, Baker somehow found time to volunteer in the community. She volunteered as an Auxiliary Police Officer and served as tour director for the New Neighbors League.

Baker's enthusiasm for her new job is noticeable immediately. "I am very excited about all of my challenges," she said. Her commitment to doing the best job possible is also evident. "I am the most demanding on myself. If I can deliver what I believe to be the best, my clients will receive quality with meticulous customer service."

Baker will be available every day for Heritage Club members and says she looks forward to planning many exiting events and trips. "I am passionate about travel, and I really love to find the unique destinations that offer some memorable surprises."

She and Weathersby have already begun scheduling trips, which include a shopping spree in Birmingham; a visit to the Kangaroo Conservation Center in Dawsonville; a visit to Holland, Belgium and Germany; and a stay in Cumberland Island. They also plan to continue the extremely popular Heritage Luncheons.

Local businesses will also be seeing Baker in her capacity as new business development manager. Regions is offering a new Banking Partner Program that offers many advantages for businesses choosing the Bank for their financial partner. Banking Partners will receive free "E-ssential Checking," a discount on first installment loan and an additional discount with direct payment debit, 50% discount on a safe deposit box and other amenities.

Baker can be reached at the main Fayette County branch on Crosstown Drive in Peachtree City, 770-632-4514.
