School PR office wins awards The public relations department of the Fayette County School System has received its first state awards for publicity efforts. The Georgia School Public Relations Association presented the department with a first place award in the category of special purpose brochure for the informational pamphlet that was designed for the Fayette County Education Foundation. GSPRA also awarded the department a third place honor for a publicity photograph taken during last year's Ghost Out program at Sandy Creek High School. Every year GSPRA offers school public relations departments an opportunity to have their publications and other printed material evaluated by experts in the field. Awards are given to first, second and third place winners. The public relations department was established in January 2001 and consists of public information officer Melinda Berry-Dreisbach and assistant Cheryl Feil.
