Two Fayette youths remained in critical condition Tuesday morning at Grady Memorial Hospital after an automobile wreck late Friday evening on Ebenezer Church Road.

Justin Holloway and William McCoy, both 17, were flown to Grady by medical helicopters at the crash scene, according to information provided by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

According to the accident report filed by the department, Holloway was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger east on Ebenezer Church Road when his vehicle slid into the westbound lane and struck a 1999 Nissan Maxima head-on. The collision occurred after Holloway's vehicle initially left the road and he attempted to re-enter the road, according to Lt. Bryan Woodie of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

During the collision, Holloway was ejected from the vehicle. It is not known whether he was wearing his seat belt, but deputies have determined that McCoy was restrained.

All five occupants of the Maxima, including the driver, were treated and later released from Southern Regional Medical Center. All but one of the passengers were wearing their seat belts when the collision occurred, according to reports.

The investigation into the wreck is continuing, according to Woodie. As with all serious automobile crashes, a blood sample from both drivers was obtained and will be submitted to the Georgia State Crime Lab for analysis to determine if either of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the crash.
