Wanted: planners for Senoia

After the last two months of resignations by members of the city's Planning Commission, the city needs three residents to occupy the empty seats on the commission.

The commission is currently in limbo, since two members don't constitute a quorum, and the city is asking all interested residents to apply by Dec. 21.

City Attorney Drew Whalen said the city still has two plats that have to be reviewed by the commission before the City Council can vote on them.

Mayor-elect Dianne Cleveland said the Dec. 21 deadline should enable the council to review applications and vote on at least one seat by the Jan. 7 council meeting.

If the council appoints at least one member Jan. 7, the new Planning Commission could meet Jan. 15 to review the two pending plats and send them to the City Council for review in February.
