Two employees of a local beauty supply store were attacked last week when a robber used a stun gun to surprise one of them after she took trash out to a nearby dumpster, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black male about 17 or 18 years old, wearing a red skull cap and a type of white scarf around his mouth, according to police reports. The incident took place after 9 p.m. at the store's location in the Banks Crossing shopping center.

Detectives working the case are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect, said Lt. Tom Kirkbride of the Fayetteville Police Department. According to the police report, the suspect fled the scene in a 1978 Ford Fairmont.

The suspect got away with $663 after forcing his way into the store, according to a report filed by the Fayetteville Police Department.

Once the suspect was inside the store, he threw a blue plastic Wal-Mart bag on the desk and told the employees to "give me all the damn money" and "put all the money in the bag."

The two employees refused medical treatment for their injuries, according to the police report. The employee who first encountered the suspect was grabbed around her neck before the suspect shocked her with the stun gun, the report said.

Once inside the store, the suspect shocked the second employee, according to the report.

The case is still under investigation, Kirkbride said.
