A private school teacher from a school in north Fayette County has been arrested for soliciting sex from a student at the school.

And an administrator from the school, Solid Rock Academy, has been charged with failing to report a suspected case of child abuse, as required by Georgia law.

According to warrants for his arrest, Dwayne Booth, 34, of College Park, attempted to have a student under 16 commit the act of sodomy in his classroom at Solid Rock Academy.

Booth is charged with two felonies: enticing a child for indecent purposes and solicitation of sodomy. The investigation began when the parents of the victim shared their suspicions with investigators.

A woman who said she was the school's top administrator told The Citizen she could not comment on the incident. She refused to give her name and ended the conversation by hanging up on the reporter.

There are indications that other victims may be involved and the investigation is continuing, according to officials at the Sheriff's Department.

The administrator, Judith Warnell Lyon, 50, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of failure to report suspected child abuse.

School officials are bound by Georgia law to report any suspicions of child abuse to law enforcement authorities.

The cases are being investigated by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The school is on Ga. Highway 138 at Commerce Drive in north Fayette County.
