A new Corvette could be a child's lifeline By JOHN
THOMPSON
The effort to build a children's emergency shelter is picking up steam this holiday season. County music superstar Alan Jackson is donating his silver 2002 silver Corvette to help fund the Angels House shelter. Residents can buy a $10 raffle ticket, with all the proceeds going to the shelter. More than 3,000 of the 10,000 tickets have already been sold, but residents can also find the tickets at Mike Fitzpatrick Ford Lincoln Mercury in Newnan. If you buy 10 tickets at the car dealer, you get one free. Also, if you purchase a new or used car at Mike Fitzpatrick before December 15, you'll receive 10 tickets. Jackson helped out the shelter earlier this year by staging a concert at Newnan High School's Drake Field. The winning ticket will be drawn Dec.15 during Angel Fest in downtown Newnan. When Angels House is completed, it will help provide temporary housing and care for abused and neglected children in Coweta County.
