Senior holiday luncheon coming up

A group of local businesses have teamed up this Christmas to feed no, not the homeless. They're saying "thank you" to the seniors in the community.

Regions Bank, the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, Wesley Woods of Newnan-Peachtree City, American Hearing Centers, Georgia Rehab Center and Heritage Ridge of Newnan will be sponsoring a free holiday celebration luncheon Dec. 13 at 11:30 a.m. The generous giving of each of the sponsors will allow adults, age 50 or older, to be guests at the annual luncheon. Reservations are required and space is limited.

Gina Weathersby, Heritage Club Coordinator, is the "behind-the-scenes" organizer. Regarding the luncheon she said, "It is important at all times, but especially during this season, to give something back to those who mean so much. I receive so many blessings throughout the year from the wonderful older adults with whom I have the pleasure to serve. I just want to do something nice for them."

She continued, "This would not be possible of course without the help of our sponsors. I selected each based on their level of involvement with older adults. I felt it was important to involve professionals in the community who work with this age group on a daily basis."

The Wyndham, with the support of their co-sponsors, will be serving up not just lunch. There will be traditional holiday trimmings, entertainment by The Peachtree City Jazz Edition, a gift for each guest and additional surprises.

For those interested in attending the holiday luncheon, reservations are required. RSVP no later than Dec 10 to Gina Weathersby at 770-253-8080.
