Santa to collect food items for charity with PTC firefighters

Santa Claus will again be visiting the streets of Peachtree City on the first three weekends of December thanks to the Peachtree City Fire Department and Peachtree City Volunteer Firefighters Association Annual Santa Run

The Santa Run is an annual undertaking of the Peachtree City Fire Department and Peachtree City Volunteer Firefighters' Association. Santa Claus rides around the city on the back of the fire engine to visit the children of the city before the Christmas holiday.

But in this event, instead of Santa giving gifts, Santa collects non-perishable food items as donations to local charities for needy residents in Fayette County. Santa does utilize the lights and sirens of his "sleigh" to notify the children of his pending arrival, so residents are asked not to be alarmed.

Due to the increasing size of the city and time constraints, Santa cannot visit every street in the city nor can he stop to visit with every child.

Santa will be making his way through the city between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

Santa will be visiting the Kedron area surrounding Peachtree Parkway North this Saturday. On Sunday, Santa will be visiting the Glenloch area east of Peachtree Parkway and the subdivisions on Flat Creek Rd. On Friday, Dec. 8, Santa will visit the remainder of the Kedron area. On Saturday, Dec. 9, Santa will be in Wynnmeade, Planterra and the remainder of the Glenloch subdivisions, West of Peachtree Parkway.

On Saturday, Dec. 15, Santa will be visiting south of Crosstown Drive and west of Peachtree Parkway. On Sunday, Dec. 16, Santa will visit the remainder of the Braelinn area.
