A Fayetteville teen who crashed his vehicle head-on into a tree in Peachtree City July 14 is being sued by one of the passengers who was seriously injured. The suit, filed by Andrew Cyrus and his father, David E. Cyrus, claims that the driver, Nicholas Yebba, drove in a reckless manner and at excessive speeds leading up to the accident. The suit alleges that Yebba was attempting to flee a pursuing police officer when the wreck occurred on Northlake Drive near the Aberdeen Village shopping center. Police eventually charged Yebba with racing, reckless driving, speeding and failure to maintain lane. The suit alleges that Yebba's actions "were intentional and were in reckless disregard for the life health and safety of others." According to the suit, Cyrus suffered a lacerated liver and one of his kidneys had to be permanently removed. The suit, which also names Yebba's father, Paul Yebba, as a defendant, is seeking $1.5 million in damages. Yebba provided his son with the vehicle, the suit alleges. The crash was so violent that emergency personnel at the scene indicated the car was totally destroyed.
