New officers installed

Following a "Mexican Fiesta" meal, the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia installed its new slate of officers at the organization's September meeting, held at RCS in Fayetteville.

The new officers installed include Eddie Lusher, president; Chad Floyd, vice president; Mac McKinney, treasurer; Mike Kruse, secretary; Greg Pruitt, Jeff Waddle and Robert Ward, builder directors; Bob Barnard, Randy Hayes, Kenny Johnson, Richard Simms, Jerry Tedder and Jeff Betsill, state directors; and Bob Barnard, Randy Hayes, Kenny Johnson and Dennis Floyd, national directors. John Hayes is past president, and Gene Barber and Jerry Tedder are life national directors. Greg Lewis was installed as associate vice president, and Liz Taylor, Lang Thompson and Patsy Dunagan as associate directors.

Conducting the installation was George McClure, a Cherokee County home builder who is past president of the Home Builders Association of Georgia. New President Lusher, presenting a plaque expressing the association's appreciation to outgoing President John Hayes, praised Hayes for the job he had done as president. "He could always get us going in the right direction," said Lusher.

Hayes, in reviewing his year as president, said it was "an honor to work with the men and women of this board." He listed the year's highlights an the creation of a web page for the association; growth in the association's membership and positive changes in its staff; a very successful Scholarship House program; the recent "barn raising" at the Winshape House in Spalding County; and the association's Sales & Marketing Council and what it accomplished during the year.

During the business session, it was announced that the association had pledged approximately $4,650 toward the national disaster relief effort.

The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia, which serves builders in Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Heard and Meriwether counties, currently has around 461 members.
